OngOng, this is too prection

2AM’s Seulong just tweeted a picture from the filming of MBC’s sports Chuseok special. This is simply too precious.

Jinwoon, Dongwoon, Jaejin, Mir, and Key, you guys are precious. ❤

Super excited for Jinwoon’s ab show because it’s kept so well hidden. Pissed that Hara is not here – I want to see her run a race again without falling to see how much ass she would kick how fast she actually is.

And I realized that I’ve posted so many new things today, mostly irrelevant little stuff XD This blog is turning into a random blabber blog. Since I have my first lovely organic chemistry midterm coming up, I’ll probably not update for 6 +/- 4 days. And life goes on, Djokovic is still my favorite, 2NE1 will make music shows this week fun. And I got into the scholarship program I interviewed for! :3 Thanks everyone.

Predictions for the rest of 2010

So with 2010 more than half-ways behind us, I decided to make a little prediction on who’s coming back when.
Red = comeback confirmed, Purple = my guess only

August is going to be a fun month, with Se7en, SHINee, and BoA all actively promoting. I think this will be better than the Rain-Hyori-2pm clash during May (especially since I believe the August contenders are musically a little more standout at this point). T-ara is confirmed for an album (full album? But my prayers are never answered that well…) in September/October. Rainbow will be back September, hopefully with much improvement from Gossip Girl. Both Kahi and Gain have solo activities lined up for September, ironic that it’s yet another Pledis/NegaNetwork clash after Son Dambi/Narsha.

For my predictions, I see a 50/50 chance of 2NE1–rumors are they are already working on choreo/album, but for some reason I don’t feel a comeback. But they have to. So either they’ll come out early, say September or early October at the latest, or not at all.

Will the Wonder Girls return to Korea? Their summer was hella hectic, but I feel 2DT was too rushed and didn’t really make an impact. If they have plans, it’ll not be until 2011. Similarly, I think 2pm is going to be back either really late 2010 or early 2011. However, I feel the 2AM boys will be back in October/November. They only have one mini-album under their belts since debut, so a full album is due.

4minute is done for the year, especially with Japan promotions. MBLAQ is probably also done, but a late 2010 comeback is remotely possible. I feel BEAST will be back in November. They’ve more or less wrapped up overseas promotions and it’s been a while since Shock of the New Era.

I don’t predict anything from the Soshi girls in 2010 since I think they’re the only group preparing to enter Japan seriously (meaning long-term), but SM might have changed strategies after DBSK/BoA, so a late-year mini-album is possible. Big Bang seems to still be promoting in Japan, with their new single Beautiful Hangover soon to be released, so I don’t think we’ll see them until 2011. But do remember T.O.P. was working on an album before he started filming Into the Fire, so expect that to drop late 2010/early 2011 before any Big Bang comebacks.

Kara is sticking around in Japan for only about a month, so I predict they may pop out a mini-album in December (a third album would be nice, too). Some sixth sense (that does not see dead people, tyvm) tells me Brown Eyed Girls will be back in action in December. SIGN was so long ago. UKISS, too, has been missing, since Man Man Hani, so they might return in November/December. After School won’t return as a full group until their last subunit promotes, so it’s 2011 for them. f(x) needs a late year mini-album turnaround, but I just feel SM is semi-giving up.

The New Year will be interesting indeed. By that time, maybe miss A will release a second mini-album! Talk about time and progression–rookies don’t stay rookies for long, do they? Let’s check back on this in 2011 and see how many I got right.

What’s Trending: too much fanscreaming

My incoherent notes taken during Mucore and Inkigayo. I can’t believe I tried the sleep-for-4-hours-wake-up-and-watch-then-sleep method. ><

Mucore!

Tiffany's surgery allegations are still hot amongst streamers, apparently. The combined power of SHINee comeback/Suju goodbye maxed out the Kpopflash streamers: 4k+, and subsequently the stream crashed a few times.

Was anyone else beside me excited for Kwon's Confession performance? And Gain popped in! Cute.

G.na is liked by streamers, but Hyuna seriously was dull. People were commenting that she needs pants? And rumors of 4minute goodbye stage?

No one knows Chaeyeon. Wow, you can tell the stream is populated with quick-to-talk 12 year olds (my apologies if you are a mature 12 year old reader)…young twerps saying she can't dance. Uh, Park Kahi was her backup dancer once upon a time for a reason (Two of Us, people?). Chaeyeon debuted way back in the days, and she’s and old pro who’s work history is 5x longer than most idols whom the close-minded streamers scream for. Respect, people, respect.

MBLAQ sounds more stable today. But I miss Y.

Wow so much miss A hating just on Jia’s hair. “I hate that pink haired girl because her hair’s pink.” I mean I’ve heard of discrimination before but this just kind of makes me giggle then frown.

SHINee’s costume back to shinee style. I like. I just learned taemin has extensions, so I’m feeling better. Jonghyun held like a 2 min note, but he sounds seriously strained today. Omg Mucore camera so much better since they caught the dance moves. I also approved of where Minho is sitting today: it looked Greek pillar-ish

4minute’s back (apparently they were in Japan during Mubank), but IMMM is short today, and is Hyuna’s hair pinned or cut?

Dambi back to her MV costume, good.

No lag during latter part of show. Mucore trended on twitter!

Suju Bonamona, Kyuhyun did his slide, there was a dance break, Leeteuk took off his tie, all was good. The end.

Hey, f(x)’s Luna’s on WGM today! And jinwoon dyed his hair again. Haha, Yonghwa passed his driver’s exam but he took forever. Seohyun passed too! Yonghwa scored high! Informal language time as punishment! I give kudos to Yonghwa–he’s a very patient guy, and two are so much more natural now. It’s fun.

Inkigayo!

SBS somehow always has the best sound system. Makes no sense.

Oh, so the first performer is the Apple Girl! Her voice is kinda weak for a solo performer, but I really like her song. And holy cow, she must have quite a sponsor, because she had an entire band and string section backing her.

The hosts are so…white today. Sulli must have taken her costuming right out of Kara’ s Honey closet. And lol she is as tall as Kwon. For some reason, I think she’s more comfortable hosting with Yonghwa and Kwon than Wooyoung and Taecyeon.

Jiyeon and Soyeon of T-ara return to perform their OST. Jiyeon’s really growing on me, but vocally she’s no match for powerhouse Soyeon. I wonder what she would have been like should she stayed as SNSD’s leader and why she isn’t T-ara’s current leader instead of Boram.

December sings very well, but they sound like Hong Kong drama singers too much for me, and that stuff has been beaten to death for me.

o.O Omg, what is this, SHINee safe driving song? XD XD such dorks. Ah, but Minho wasn’t there. Must have been prefilmed.

Idk why, but Rottyful Sky’s new song is better than Kan Miyeon’s or Chaeyeon’s. I’m going to look into her. Plus, she has abs that rival’s Park Kahi’s. Wut.

That Black Pearl girl third from left, wearing the whitewashed jeans, is threatening to make it on my exclusive list of top female idol singers.

Yep, Inkigayo is more fun with the new hosts.

Hyolyn and accompaniments got better today. And I think Hyolyn’s become the crowd favorite–lots of cheering for her. This song is a summer favorite in Korea, since it’s actually consistently top 20 on charts, and everyone likes dancing to it *Push Push baby~*.

SHINee look like total hippies today for their interview. And I really want Kwon’s Ray Bans.

G.na’s got herself some psycho fangirls–there’s this girl that KEEPS ON SCREAMING through the entire performance, and I think she’s always there for Inkigayo. Junhyun’s back, and so much better than Hyuna. G.na’s vocals stay very true to the recording, and I’ll give it to her for the accuracy.

Teen Top. They look like a bunch of kids, because they are. I have issues with this trend of younger and younger idol groups. I previously drew the line for 94ers, so 95ers are unacceptable for me. Previously, only exceptionally talented artists even dared to debut so young (read: BoA, Lee Junghyun), but now they’re just being pumped out without being trained adequately for idol-dom. I’ll condede that Teen Top is very sharp and well trained, but the problem is that their age conflict with their semi-2pm image. When a bunch of kids who look like my middle school campers from nature camp try to act ‘beastly and dark,’ it just looks awkward and weird, no matter how polished they are.

Kwon is better than Sulli in aegyo. XD

miss A has their own fanclub/fanchants now. So some people accuse them of dancing too provocatively, but is it just me, or do they look really tame compared to After School’s debut or some really slutty stuff happening now like Psycho and LPG?

Chaeyeon’s fanclub must have been given a mic, because they were really loud and it didn’t sound like there were too many of them. And the song is still no better than Kan Miyeon’s.

Narsha’s costume looks good today, but she must be running out of money for wigs, cause that platinum blond one is here to stay. I think she’s getting a little sick of Gain constantly stealing her spotlight–after Mubank the rest of BEG made a stage appearance with her, and most of the MC questions were about WGM and Gain-Kwon. I also feel that Gain’s solo debut will be more successful. It highly amuses me that NegaNetworks says Gain will have a new concept that’s more ‘difficult to understand’ than Narsha’s, and apparently will have a new style of music no one has known before. Gain is going to trend a new genre? Lmao go for it.

People want to kill Sulli now. She gets to have Kwon and Yonghwa, two married men, fawn over her.

SHINee. I thought they’d wait to break out the black costume until Minho returns to dancing, but eh, this is my favorite outfit set (minus Taemin’s headband). Jonghyun’s sounding much less forced today. I learned the tutting dance today!! 😀 The moves in real-time are hella difficult.

For some reason, I think the Inkgayo cameraman likes Taeyang, because his performance was very well shot, versus where they went special effects happy on SHINee. His city lights backdrop was also very nice.

Son Dambi’s corseted backups are back. ‘Chica taa’ still annoys me to no end, but the performance is becoming more bearable for me to watch.

Suju bids goodbye. They’ve had, again, another successful promotion.

Lol Yonghwa announced the winner before it was officially announced XD XD XD.

The 7/23/10 Music Bank Recap

Arie: through my pilgrimage through the land of J-rock, I have never liked a single female J-rock band because it sounded like anime J-pop with guitars. Arie is like the Korean version, and the vocalist doesn’t have a strong voice–hello, since bands only have one frontman for a reason, you’d think they can find someone who doesn’t have to lipsync the high parts? I was totally about to pass UNTIL the main guitarist whipped out a totally kickass solo. Is she rocking an ESP? The crowd was apparently amazed as well. Partially due to the popularity of groups like CN Blue and FT Island, bands are starting to get more support from music shows, which is a move in the right direction.

I can’t listen to Norazo’s Curry anymore, mainly because it’s clearly offending my roommate for very apparent reasons.

The Narsha/Chaeyeon/Miyeon backstage…I don’t understand how they still look so youthful. Kan Miyeon especially. Man, with short hair she might as well be Kara’s Nicole’s older sister (or her mom, now I think about it they look insanely alike).

B2Y: I haven’t heard Crazy until now. This would be quite catchy if the pace of the song had more variety and the guys in the group could sing better live.

Sistar: I finally learned the leader’s name! Hyolyn! Turns out she was also a (wrongful) JYP reject. The song still sucks, but this girl’s growing on me. First, please look at this picture.

It’s for their new Chronos Sword OST (SK has to be the only country for which video games is a legitimate industry you can release songs for…though they release songs for just about everything, from soju to chicken). This is 1/2 Gain (from Sign promotions), half CL. Epic. Also, Hyolyn’s live abilities are phenonmenal. I even struggle hearing some of my favorite vocal powerhouses live, yet this girl belts out everytime, even if the lyrics are ‘push push’ and the sound system sucks. And she’s always smiling ^_^

Kan Miyeon’s stick thing legs are freakin’ me out. But she’s always had this problem since Baby VOX days. As she states that she actually has a hard time gaining weight, I think she has gastrointestinal problems, mainly poor absorption of nutrients by the duodenum. Hey, Mir’s back! Lookin’ super hot today, and I’m glad MBLAQ has returned.

G.na: Who was the rapper today? Didn’t recognize him (unless Junhyung gained weight…?). Nikki of PopReviewsNow states that she lacks an aura in presence, and I can definitely see that. But she’s got that tender-sad angst face down. Actually, I think that’s a part of the problem–how into a song can you be if you can only make sad expressions (and have wind blowing in your face all the time)? No accidents today, yay. I’m becoming a fan of this girl’s story/music.

Z:EA: They’re going on tour soon, right? I just like to say that Mazeltov pissed off my Jewish friends, and the leader guy started singing off beat. With the MR being louder than he was. He even fails at noraebang.

2wins: When Supreme Team came on stage, it reminded me of something I saw at a drunken party once. At least it looked fun.

Whoa, Suju dropped 6 spots. That’s what happens when the album sales stop.

miss A won K-chart! First, yes, second prediction come true. Next, can the people who say ‘omg why didn’t blah blah win, this song’s so boring’ obviously are not checking the charts. I still don’t completely understand the staying power of this song completely, but this song is KILLING the charts. It’s the hottest single out there. Even after Se7en and SHINee made comebacks, 2 days later BGGG climbed back up to #1 again on most charts (then again a similar thing happened to Queen, which I fail to understand even more). So shut up boy lol. And Suzy’s breathlessness problem is finally solved via handmics.

MBLAQ: I’m glad they’re back, that’s all 🙂 And G.O., you are so handsome clean-shaven. But was Joon wearing a headband?! It looked like a freakin’ bonnet. Burn it. G.O. would be much better off with a handmic thanks.

The Suju/SHINee backstage was just absurdly ridiculous XD. Unexplanably, Key’s new hair made him look cuter instead of manlier.

Is it just me, or does Son Dambi sound better and better live everytime? She’s cool in my book.

Narsha’s costuming costs $3,500 each time? o.O she’s got to be losing money on this one. And she decided to wear my grandma’s tea-set placemats today. But I highly appreciate how loud the Everlastings were today, and today’s backdrop looked pretty good despite looking like cardboard cutouts.

Chaeyeon’s Crazy…another song called Crazy? Her teaser was pretty strip-pole scandalous, but the actual song’s not so controversial though she dares show cleavage lol. Look Look Look is kind of blah–definitely no Two of Us (though I thought that song was kinda dull too). She’s a good singer and a really good dancer back in the day, though. Did you know that Queen of Backup Dancers, Park Kahi, used to dance for her?

Do you know how hard it is for me to go to sleep on time? I did it just so I can stream them on Mucore tonight (Mubank is unstreamable for me due to time difference…2am is ok, but 4 or 5 is pushing it…). Still don’t like Up & Down, but the boys looked so good. Minho looked cheerful and happy? He’s pulling a Taeyang with the smiley eyes thing, and I like it!

So just looked it up, and Lucifer is another creation of SM song-god Yoo Young Jin, the man who’s composed for H.O.T. all the way to SHINee. My Korean friends say his lyrics are really weird. Apparently Mirotic is really deep and philosophical like an Erza Pound poem (though all I care about is the chin-dance). I won’t deny that his songs are semi-formulaic, but I simply love Lucifer too much at this moment. And my apologies to Minho, he actually was rapping the parts I thought Key was rapping. That means he gained flexibility in his rapping style! Yay development.

Their live was, of course, phenomenal. Seriously, it sounds like the CD. Check out the MR removed version–THEY SING SOOO WELL LIVE. At this current moment, I can confidently declare that they are the best all-around live performers (and if they decide to be ballad singers tomorrow they’d be pretty competitive, too). Still disappointed they didn’t do the Jaejoong-Rising Sun throne chair thing for Minho. Is he using the same bar stool Amber was?!

Minho, be like this.

Wow, the fans were sooo loud, and they already have that fanchant down. However, as much as I love Minho being a fighter, the cameraman was so Minho obsessed he missed out on all the epic dance moves including the thousand arm Shiva. >:O

Suju in pink. And Leeteuk shoutout to SHINee! And major Shindong and Donghae gropage on poor Eunhyuk.

…and of course, miss A’s victory. I’d like to note that their digital score won them the show–the public digs BGGG as a song. And Min headbanging at the end = XD.

Where was f(x)? Is their Mr. Boogie promotion really over? After 2 performances as a 4-man group? I feel like SM is giving up on them a little. They’re sticking the members in shows and MCing spots now, so it looks like they’ll have to stay afloat until at least winter. Maybe Yoo Young Jin should have written them a song, too–oh wait, he did. Which was why the lyrics of Nu ABO were so effed up.

Finally, guess who this is!

I simply could not believe that Sandara Park’s hair could be styled like that. I mean, Palm Tree, Phoenix, she’s done it all. Watch out for the 2nd season of 2NE1TV, the show that I unfortunately started during finals week and dragged me into this whole obsessive watching of Korean variety shows mess.
